Thursday 19 May 2016
A new industrial trade union federation was born in Spain today. UGT's sector federations MCA-UGT (metal, construction, wood) and FITAG-UGT (chemicals, mining, energy, textiles, food, agriculture) have merged to become UGT FICA (industry, construction, agriculture).
The founding Congress elected the new leadership: Carlos Romero (President), Pedro Hojas (General Secretary) and Antonio Deusa (Deputy General Secretary). IndustriAll Europe congratulates this future-oriented decision and wishes the new leadership every success in their fight for social progress, as well as for the protection of jobs and working conditions.
