This ambitious initiative, co-funded by the European Commission, builds on the momentum of the previous NEPSI IN ACTION project (link: https://news.industriall-europe.eu/Article/1167) and marks a new chapter in the shared commitment to protecting workers from exposure to respirable crystalline silica (RCS).

Eighteen years after the original NEPSI Social Dialogue Agreement was signed, the partnership between industriAll Europe and 19 industry employers’ organisations remains a unique and successful model of European social dialogue. By fostering trust, joint responsibility, and open communication between employers and workers, NEPSI has shown how effective social dialogue can lead to concrete improvements in workplace health and safety.

The NEPSI PROPAGATION project will run for three years and includes:

  • The creation of a dedicated platform for national exchanges and good practice dissemination
  • Organisation of new, national meetings and seminars in five countries (Belgium, the Netherlands, Ireland, Portugal, and Bulgaria)
  • Continuous updates of the NEPSI Good Practices and exploration of innovative exposure control tools
  • Development of additional e-learning resources
  • A dedicated seminar on the safe handling of natural and artificial stones containing crystalline silica

This project will also coincide with the celebration of the 20th anniversary of the NEPSI Agreement – a milestone that underlines the enduring relevance and strength of this initiative.
Social dialogue has always been the foundation of NEPSI’s success. Through regular engagement, joint monitoring, and practical action, the social partners have proven that collaborative approaches deliver lasting benefits for workers, employers, and society. With renewed energy, they are committed to building on this legacy and further strengthening protection for workers across Europe.
